Over the past few years the stage has been beckoning to me as a storyteller/puppeteer and the stencils, transformed into shadow puppets, ask me to use a different part of my brain… I have found myself learning to move and be one with the puppet as we play with light and shadow.

Flags and Stencils in Performance
The flags and the stencils are natural performers. They make space and define place. You put them up and it’s a space for creation, celebration, performance, and so on and so on and so on. They have been leading me towards a multimedia and multidisciplinary community event called The Lodge of All Beings and the Awe and Reverence Tour. They want to big and bold and hold space for the stories of the universe and the cosmos to be told. The small stories and the big stories. The interconnected stories of the whole eco-system. stencils make natural shadow puppets and we have grown from simple stenciI have offered shadow puppet play at IndigenEYEZ youth camps.
I have been woven into Gerardo Avila’s Day of the Dead shows as a puppet maker, puppeteer and as a dancing skeleton.
I am curious to see where the puppets and stories will take me!
